Playground:
Optical Arts

A reinterpretation of children’s playgrounds.

Taken away from their original contexts, these structures, once representing a world of fun and possibility, become simple arrangements of sculptural forms. Using light as a catalyst, we play with the interaction of shapes and shadows to reveal their architectural nature. We contemplate these now lifeless kids’ playgrounds through the nostalgic view of an adult. For a brief moment, the past and present are reunited together.

I worked on modelling, texturing, lighting and shading.
